Waterfowl Breed Chart
So you're trying to decide what kind of duck or goose to get your flock started... do you want a good egg layer? A specific size egg? A broody breed that will hatch and raise their own? Are you looking for calm duck that won't run to hide when you open the gate?
I created the following chart which lists several commonly asked attributes of the 35 most common domestic waterfowl breeds. It is not a comprehensive list, but it should cover pretty much any duck or goose you might be thinking of keeping in your backyard. It's highly sortable for ease of use.
Other resources for your research would be American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC), BackyardChickens.com, and Feathersite Ducks. I created this chart from those resources (and so many others) using Metzer Farms breed chart as my springboard.
